My lampwork glass beads and sculptures channel through my fascination with things I rarely get to see in everyday life. Living in the midwest, I don't have the opportunity to dive to the depths of the ocean, but I can freeze a jellyfish in glass and hold him in my hand.
A busy life with my family doesn't allow much time for staring at small creatures near the forest floor, but a snail may creep across the top of a mushroom or a tree frog can sit on a mossy stone right here in my studio.
My hope is that people who acquire pieces of handmade glass from me will be able to connect with that need to interact with the little things that won't be tamed.
